Take care of the environment by using FLOPP
At PROQUIMIA we carry the values of sustainability, ecology and innovation in our DNA, and we are determined to create a world where we can clean without polluting the planet.
That is why we have decided to go one step further and stand up to plastics in two different ways: the FLOPP ECO range and the reusable bottle and refill system of the new FLOPP BAC and FLOPP MULTIUSOS.
FLOPP ECO Range

The FLOPP ECO range is the first range of products certified with the European Ecolabel and in a 100% biodegradable and compostable container. This range consists of FLOPP Lavavajillas Gel ECO, FLOPP Ropa ECO, FLOPP Ropa Bebé ECO,FLOPP Suelos Universal ECO y FLOPP Suelos Universal PH Neutro ECO.
The European Ecolabel ECOLABEL allows consumers to choose those products with the least impact on the environment, since manufacturing requires less consumption of water, raw materials and energy.
All the products in the FLOPP ECO range are presented in water-soluble capsules, which achieve superior cleaning without dirtying the planet, and in a 100% biodegradable and compostable container that can be thrown in the brown container.
FLOPP BAC & FLOPP MULTIUSOS

FLOPP Bac is a multipurpose cleaner concentrated in capsules that combines cleaning power with maximum sanitization, without bleach. It is suitable for all types of surfaces, and can also be used for floor cleaning by diluting the capsule in a bucket with 4 or 5 liters of water. It presents a pleasant clean scent.
FLOPP Multiusos is designed to clean all types of surfaces in the home. It is a concentrated product, with great cleaning power, and that leaves a pleasant clean smell.
The basis of the system are the single-dose water-soluble capsules, which are diluted in 750 ml of water in a spray bottle. Consumers can purchase the product in a kit, consisting of a capsule and a plastic bottle made with 100% recycled material and 100% recyclable, or the refills of the product, in 100% recycled and 100% recyclable cardboard cases, of a capsule.
With FLOPP BAC and FLOPP MULTIUSOS we directly reduce the number of plastic bottles that are put into circulation, and we promote the culture of reuse.
With the purchase of one bottle and its refills, the subsequent single-use plastic bottles can be saved, with the consequent reduction of C02 emissions derived from the unnecessary transport of water usually present in the formulation of cleaning products. In summary, for each capsule of concentrated product, a plastic bottle is saved to the planet, achieving an equally effective but much more sustainable cleaning.
The FLOPP BAC and FLOPP Multipurpose reusable bottle is made of 100% recycled and 100% recyclable PET. The PET plastic used is obtained from the selective collection of waste circuits (PCR-post consumer recycled), thus promoting the philosophy of circular economy and respect for the environment.
The mixture of water and the capsule allows preparing 750ml of ready-to-use product.
Why should we reduce the use of plastics?
The Spanish state is the fifth state in the European Union (EU) with the highest annual consumption of disposable packaging. Specifically, 3.8 billion plastic bottles are consumed, according to data from the Seas at Risk platform. Of these, only 33% is recycled correctly and the rest ends up in landfills or in the environment.
The Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2015/0276 on packaging and packaging waste determines that by 2025, the member states will have to comply with the recycling of 50% of the plastic and by 2030 achieve 70%. An objective that is difficult to achieve if you do not invest in equipment and infrastructures that promote the circular economy, and, in the domestic sphere, promote the culture of reuse, extending the useful life of products by reusing packaging and reducing single-use packaging .
Researchers from the University of Hawaii discovered that the most common plastics emit traces of methane and ethylene once exposed to sunlight, generating a detrimental methane footprint to reduce global warming on Earth.
Therefore, the use of disposable plastics is incompatible with the idea of achieving a ZEO- zero emissions- society. The change will come when there is really an ecological awareness in society jointly promoted by entities, governments and companies.
Reducing the use of plastic is very important because it has a harmful environmental impact and a high carbon footprint. Plastics are materials derived from hydrocarbons such as natural gas or organic compounds such as oil, whose exploitation is one of the largest CO2 emitters on the planet.
Plastics generate CO2 emissions in three different ways: during production, during recycling, and during degradation.
Our 100% PCR bottles are manufactured with post-consumer recycled plastic, their production produces 49% fewer emissions than that generated with plastic from virgin raw materials.
We are facing the culture of use and throw away, but the biggest problem is that almost 80% of packaging ends up in landfills, incinerated or thrown into the environment. Somewhat alarming data are found in MITECO’s annual report for 2016: Of the 21 million tons of municipal waste collected, 11 million ended up in landfills, 57.3%.
Why should we choose products in capsules?
Not only do we believe that the packaging presents and protects the product it contains, but also that it reflects the values of our brand. Our ecological products packed in water-soluble capsules provide the following benefits with respect to conventional detergents packed in traditional packaging:
- Less environmental impact
- Greater biodegradability
- Less use of hazardous chemicals
- Same efficacy as conventional products
- Less potential health risks
- Labelling with instructions for a correct ecological use, which translates into greater energy and economic savings, thanks to their great efficacy at low temperatures.
- Easier, more convenient and more precise dosing (the exact dose is used).
- No direct handling of the product
- Maximum protection to children (all Proquimia capsules contain hargarant substance, officially considered “the bitterest substance in the world”).
- Less packaging waste: the water-soluble film dissolves completely when in contact with water, without leaving any residues.
- They occupy less space: on the supermarket shelfs and during transport, which translates into less CO2 emissions. For example: a truck loaded with FLOPP product is equivalent to 3.5 trucks of a similar product packed with the traditional system.
